Flatiron, NYC
Clients L + K wanted a relaxed, modernly-eclectic vibe to their new light-filled apartment in the Flatiron neighborhood in New York.
L and K contacted me for assistance in designing their new apartment, which they wanted to be relaxed, modernly-eclectic and uniquely theirs. They were merging two separate residences and wanted a fresh start for most of their pieces and were unsure how to articulate their aesthetic preferences to each other in order to find a solution they both felt good about. As this was their first home together, they wanted to find a mix of investment pieces they both enjoyed as well as some budget friendly options.
Since artwork is so personal to the individual, this was one of the most challenging aspects of the project. I proposed an idea to incorporate some objects as well as graphic prints / photographs in their gallery wall to provide some texture and added visual interest. For L, she had an inside joke about Kanye West (that won’t be divulged here) but found this amusing poem about Kanye - which was turned into a framed graphic print.
